Stellar + Spot Refund Guarantee


Definitions
- Purchaser. This is you, the purchaser of Spot’s Refund Guarantee. We will also use “you” and “your” to refer to you.
- Booking. This is the rental or reservation you purchased from Stellar.
- Booking Value. This is the cost of the Booking. This is defined as the base price of your transaction, and is how both the cost of your Refund Guarantee coverage and the value of your refund are calculated.
- Refund Guarantee. This is the service provided by Spot that allows you to cancel your Booking for any reason of your choosing.
- Spot. The company that provides the refund service of Stellar. Spot is not affiliated with any particular rental or reservation.
What is Spot’s Refund Guarantee?
If you cancel your Booking on your own initiative, Spot will refund you a percentage of the protected amount listed in your account, based on the schedule below.
Cancel For Any Reason is not insurance. Rather, it is a product provided by Spot, which is not an insurance company. Coverage starts at 12:01 AM UTC on the day after you purchase your first Booking.
Refund Schedule:
- Cancel up to 24 hours before your Booking: 80% refund value
What is excluded?
If you are offered and choose to accept a refund of any amount from the operator with whom you made your booking, you forfeit any and all refundable value associated with your Refund Guarantee purchase. Additionally, Spot’s Refund Guarantee will not cover cancellations within 24H of the start of your Booking.
What’s the cost?
Spot’s Refund Guarantee costs 12% of your Booking Value. Refund Guarantee is non-refundable, even in the event that you do not use it - unless your Booking is directly canceled by a Stellar Operator, of their own initiative.
If you choose to book using a payment plan or deposit and opt into Refund Guarantee, you're agreeing to have coverage applied with, and being charged for, each future payment.
It’s also important to note that if you need to file a claim, your refund will only cover the portion of your booking that you’ve actually paid for at the time of the claim. Any unpaid future installments will not be included in your refund.
How to use
There is no proof or documentation required to use Spot’s Refund Guarantee. Refund requests should be processed within 24-48 hours of the request. Refunds should be processed within 24-48 hours of you receiving confirmation of the cancellation of your Booking.
Specific steps:
- Please click here at least 24H before the start of your Booking if you wish to cancel and receive a refund. You will need to provide some basic information, including your Order ID Number, the Date and Time of your Booking and a brief explanation of your cancellation reason.
- Spot will reach out via email to confirm that your Booking cancellation has been processed.
- Following this confirmation, Spot will issue you a refund within 72-96 hours. Refunds will be made in $USD and processed via Venmo or PayPal. Please note it may take 5 to 7 business days for the funds to be returned to your account.
- Please note that when your Booking is cancelled via Spot’s Refund Guarantee, your Booking is cancelled with your Stellar Operator, and you will no longer have the ability to use your Booking.
