FAQS

How do I file a claim?

All you have to do is log in to your account to report your accident at myaccount.getspot.com so we can verify your policy information. You can do this even if you haven't received treatment or bills yet. Then, once you get your first bill or Explanation of Benefits, you can file a claim.

Is Spot health insurance?

No, Spot is not health insurance. Spot's plan provides coverage for reimbursement of medical bills incurred for injuries stemming from accidents. As much as we’d like to help you with your stomach flu (drink plenty of fluids!), that's just not our thing. General illness and sickness are not included in your policy coverage.

What is excluded in my policy?

General illness, pre-existing conditions, overuse injuries (wear and tear), and chronic sickness are not included. Spot only covers accidental injuries that happen while participating in covered activities. For international participants, treatment must be received in the United States to be eligible for benefits.

What medical costs are covered under Spot?

Up to $10,000 for covered accidental injuries — including diagnostic scans, ER visits, hospital stays, surgery, and emergency transportation, as long as treatment is carried out by a licensed medical professional (your spiritual healer's plan is on you).

What's the difference between Weekend Warrior and Annual Coverage?

Weekend Warrior ($25/race weekend) can cover you for a single USA BMX event — add it during registration for any race weekend you want covered. U.S. residents can also add coverage for BMX Canada events.

Annual Coverage ($30/month billed $360 annually) can cover you for 12 months straight — at every USA BMX sanctioned event and every practice session on a sanctioned USA BMX track. U.S. residents are also covered at BMX Canada sanctioned events and practice sessions on sanctioned BMX Canada tracks. No per-event signup required.

If you race a handful of times a year, Weekend Warrior may be all you need. If you're at the track regularly, Annual Coverage is built for your schedule. Learn more about Annual Coverage and purchase here.

How do I know which coverage applies to me?

Your coverage territory is based on your country of residence. U.S. residents — including U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and individuals holding a U.S. temporary work visa — are covered at USA BMX and BMX Canada sanctioned events in the United States and Canada. All other participants are covered at USA BMX sanctioned events in the United States only. See the benefit summary for your residency type for full details.
