Ikon Pass Expands Partnership with Spot Insurance to Launch Refundable Option for 26/27 Ikon Passes - On Sale March 12
March 12, 2026
Ikon Pass has expanded its partnership with Spot to introduce refundable purchase options for the 2026-2027 season. Starting today, customers purchasing the Ikon Pass and the Ikon Base Pass at www.ikonpass.com may choose between refundable and non-refundable options at the time of purchase.
The refundable option, powered by Spot’s Refund Guarantee, gives pass holders added flexibility if plans or life circumstances change. Unlike traditional refund protection products, Refund Guarantee allows guests to cancel for any reason with no questions asked. Requesting and receiving a refund is simple and fast, and pass holders may qualify for up to a full refund depending on the timing of the request and prior use.
Flexible purchase options are becoming increasingly standard across experience-focused verticals where customers often commit to plans months in advance. Refundable purchase models help reduce hesitation at checkout while creating new opportunities for businesses to strengthen early-season demand while generating incremental revenue.
Ikon Pass and Spot first partnered in 2022 to offer insurance add-ons to Ikon Pass holders. The introduction of financial protection through a fully refundable pass marks the next evolution of collaboration, and it reflects a shared focus on creating more guest-friendly, flexible experiences for skiers and riders.
"For nearly two years, we've been building a customizable refund product exclusively for the ski industry," said Matt Randall, Co-Founder of Spot Insurance. "Our goal was to create something truly unique for Ikon Pass holders, focused on delivering the best possible experience for their guests. We couldn't be more excited to bring this to market with Ikon Pass."
“We are continually looking for new opportunities to offer Ikon Pass holders that provide flexibility and value,” said Lawrence Burka, Chief Commercial Officer, Alterra Mountain Company. “Spot’s refundable purchase option offers our pass holders just that. and can help shape an entire travel experience.”
